Andrea Smurra

Hello! I am a Research Fellow at the Institute for Fiscal Studies. Previously, I managed the Jobs of the World Project, and was Country Economist for the International Growth Centre in Myanmar.  I received my PhD from University College London in 2023.

I am an applied microeconomist. Much of my research focuses on labor and gender, but I am also interested in questions related to State capacity and Political Economy. I have projects in India, Sierra Leone, Italy and Myanmar.
